Myofascial Decompression (Cupping)

Myofascial Decompression (MFD) is a new and scientific take on traditional ancient Chinese medicine practices. This revamped approach combines negative pressure therapy with evidence based movement protocols to enhance movement patterns and neuromuscular re-education. MFD is becoming increasingly popular with athletes for its effectiveness and non-invasive approach to musculoskeletal inefficiencies. Nearly every sport in the 2020 olympics had athletes with cupping marks present.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage

IASTM is a soft tissue therapy used in over ⅔ of MLB, NFL, and NBA teams. IASTM performed with a smooth edge tool used to glide over the skin and muscles in an attempt to promote gliding within the muscular tissues. It’s been shown to increase range of motion. decrease joint stiffness, and has a therapeutic effect as well with regards to muscle.

Active Release/ Pin and Stretch

As with all therapies we are looking to increase the functional capacity/movement of a muscle. This technique requires shortening a muscle by pinning it down, then taking it through full ranges of motion both active and passively. This therapy has a similar approach as MFD, but with a compressive muscle stimulus instead of a decompression stimulus.
